Mecha roguelike game for PC

Metal Mind is a premium action game for PC developed by Whirllaxy Limited. It is a top-down roguelike that features a mecha theme wherein players control a highly customizable robot facing a corporation looking to enslave their kind and rip them off any free will.

Combining frantic bullet hell gameplay from games like Brotato with the twin-stick shooter controls of REMEDIUM, Metal Mind offers a fast-paced and engaging time from start to finish. Add to that the high level of customization possible, and players are able to create all kinds of dynamic builds to suit their playstyles.

Mech resistance

Metal Mind tells the story of a mysterious organization of politicians, scientists, and engineers called ACW. It is the group's firm belief that robots should not have the right to free will. Thus, they begin rounding them up and stripping them of their sentience. You are an awakened mech and will embark on a quest to resist this cruel enslavement and fight for your kind.

In the game, your body is a weapon that you can build however you want with various machine parts and mods you'll collect on your journey. Make it as tanky or as agile as needed depending on the situation and enemy. There are over 100 unique weapons to equip, ranging from lasers to shoulder cannons and even naval artillery that carry massive shell rounds.

That level of variety will serve you well as the game has all kinds of enemies to face like animal-like machines, mobile fortresses, and everything else in between. Blast your way through the game’s big baddie, the Final Inquisitor. There are still a few quirks and omissions that need to be addressed, though, like missing sound effects and no option to remap keybindings.

Fight for your kind

In summary, Metal Mind is an intriguing action roguelike with how it handles character building and combat. The story is also pretty interesting and the type of enemies you'll fight are creative. Apart from some of the issues mentioned above, this one is worth checking out if you're a fan of the genre. Go play it now and see for yourself.
